Shakyamuni Buddha Statue with Life Story Carved Monastic Robe | Tibetan Buddhist Artwork

This Shakyamuni Buddha statue is handcrafted in Patan, Nepal by Newari artisans using the lost-wax casting technique, one of the most revered methods in Himalayan metalwork. Shaped from solid copper and refined through 3D carving and meticulous hand-chasing, every contour of this Buddhist statue reflects precision and devotion of a living sacred tradition.

The most captivating feature is its monastic robe, where craftsmanship reaches remarkable artistic depth. Every fold is adorned with finely sculpted narrative panels portraying significant chapters from Buddha’s life: including his birth, royal upbringing, great renunciation, meditation beneath Bodhi Tree, enlightenment and first teachings. Between these sacred scenes, master artisans have carved celestial deities, symbolic cloud and floral scrolls patterns that flow harmoniously across the garment.

Buddha sits in serene meditation, holding a alms bowl in one hand symbolizing dedication to path of wisdom, while the other hand performs the Bhumisparsha Mudra. Resting upon a beautifully chiseled lotus pedestal, this handcrafted Shakyamuni Buddha statue becomes both a sacred devotional object and visual chronicle of Buddha’s life. Ideal for meditation spaces or spiritual devotion, it brings Nepalese artistry, and divine symbolism into any sacred setting.

About Shakyamuni Buddha

Shakyamuni Buddha, revered as the “Awakened One of the Shakya Clan,” is the historical Buddha and founder of Buddhism who embodies perfect enlightenment through wisdom, compassion, and self-realization. According to sacred texts, he attained enlightenment beneath the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya and dedicated his life to teaching the path that leads all beings beyond suffering. His golden form symbolizes the radiance of awakened wisdom that illuminates the true nature of reality. His teachings manifest through the sacred mantra “Om Muni Muni Maha Munaye Soha“, which devotees chant to cultivate inner peace, develop wisdom, and awaken their innate Buddha-nature.
