About Manjushri

Manjushree, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom in Mahayana Buddhism, symbolizes the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. He is typically depicted holding a sword in his right hand, symbolizing the cutting through of ignorance, and a scripture in his left hand, often the Prajnaparamita Sutra. Revered for his ability to bestow wisdom, he is a significant figure in both Tibetan and other Buddhist traditions, invoked in practices aimed at enhancing understanding and dispelling confusion. Manjushris youthful form and peaceful expression, often accompanied by symbols like a lotus or flames, reflect his role as a guide on the spiritual path toward enlightenment. The powerful Manjushri mantra,“Om A Ra Pa Ca Na Dhih”, is chanted to enhance wisdom, memory, and understanding.
