Samantabhadra, meaning ‘Universal Worthy’ or ‘All-Good,’ is regarded as the primordial Buddha in Nyingma Tibetan Buddhism, representing the Dharmakaya the truth body of the Buddha, which is the unmanifested, inconceivable aspect of enlightenment. Depicted in Yab-Yum (father-mother) union with his consort Prajnaparamita, he symbolizes the perfect, non-dual union of wisdom (Prajna) and skillful means/compassion (Karuna), representing the ultimate state of enlightenment where all dualities are resolved into pure, expansive awareness.
